Visa

Passport

When travelling to Vietnam, travellers must have their original passport (not a copied one or any other kind of papers such as Travel document, Refugee Travel Document, Resident permit, Laissez-passer, APEC Business Travel Card, etc... )

Passports must be valid more than 6 months prior to their arrival date in Vietnam.

The Immigration officers or the airlines staff have the right to refuse those, whose passport is valid less than 6 months, to enter Vietnam or to check-in onboard.

Visa

All travellers must have a valid visa to enter Vietnam, except certain visa-exemption nationals (refer to the Visa General Information below).

The visa must be issued, stamped and pasted on their current, valid passport. (E.g. Saigontourist has faced some cases where a traveller has 2 passports: one passport has a validity of 3 months with a visa, whereas the other passport is valid for 10 years but without a visa ==> this traveller is not allowed to enter Vietnam as his visa is on the invalid passport)

  3. Landing visa or visa upon-arrival:
For those who decide to go to Vietnam at the last minute, they can get the visa at the international airport of Vietnam (such as Noi Bai in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat in HCMC and Danang airport in Danang).
